Roller Blind Workshops

At Bright A Blind we are delighted to be able to provide engaging and informative roller blind workshops, providing you with all of the information you need about installing roller blinds. Roller Blinds should be correctly specified, installed, and operated. Other services such as solar shading really enhance any building. Control of light, provision of privacy, and helping to improve the internal environment by controlling heat gain and loss can all be achieved by internal and external window blinds, Skylights tension systems, and outdoor products.

Roller Blind Workshop Overview

This is an informal half-day educational awareness program held twice a month for a relatively small group of FM and Project professionals that focuses especially on techniques and skills in the management of large numbers of blinds and solar shading. The half-day is split into two modules: Practical and Awareness. The time spent at our roller blind workshops not only familiarises all attendees with the basics of commercial blinds including legal and Health and Safety directives in the workplace relating to shading but also introduces them to practical work in the curtain workshops.

The early morning is spent meeting the team and then in the training room addressing topics including facilities management best practices towards blinds, legislation with blinds already in place, life cycle sustainability, energy efficiency, roller blind installation, and strategic purchasing. The second part of the morning is “hands-on” in our fully customised curtain workshops. Putting together the blind makes building service managers and their team more competent in handling practical services at work. Participants acquire skills to make at least one roller blind. You’ll leave with at least one finished blind completely free, from a choice of fabrics in stock.

What size should attendees plan to make?
We recommend you choose to make a standard size window blind throughout the course of our roller blind workshops, no more than 2m x 2m, so participants can complete the whole task – perhaps a kitchen window. We’ll send you details of how to measure up, and what you’ll need to bring.

Who’s it for?
Public and private sector facility management specialists, service providers, members of BIFM, as well as professionals and end-user clients in interiors and Fit-out. Classes are limited to 4. Everyone arrives in search of something – a solution, a best practice, a new skill, a decision, a fresh perspective, an action plan or a break from routine. We will provide you with all the information that you had hoped to obtain throughout the course of our roller blind workshops.
